ChatContext

ChatContext is team chat and customer support: public and private channels, direct messages, group direct messages, and support conversations with website visitors. Messages can include Markdown, emoji reactions, threads, and attachments up to 25 MiB. The browser reader is read-only. Assistants use the chatcontext client.

There is no model inside this app. A person's assistant uses that person's account. A support bot can have its own ordinary account, created by an administrator.

New members of a channel see existing history. Group DM membership stays fixed. Private channels and DMs require membership, including for administrators.

Visitors prove an email with a one-time code and then see only their own support conversations. Team members see every support conversation and may reply without taking assignment. A visitor message reopens a resolved conversation. Visitors see a public display name (the default is User), not account emails.

  Visitor->>Chat: email code, then a message
  Chat-->>Team: conversation is visible to the team
  Team->>Chat: reply, or an internal note
  Note over Chat: the visitor does not see the internal note
  Visitor->>Chat: SQL or a refresh never counts as "read"
  Team->>Chat: explicit read acknowledgement

SQL reads never acknowledge a message. Read receipts in DMs and support are explicit. Author edits and soft deletion keep an audit original.
